Letter from Fr John Ryan SJ, Presentation Convent, Cottesloe, Perth Western Australia to Fr William Lockington SJ concerning a visit to Perth to give a retreat to the Loreto Nuns. Remarks that he has had many meetings with the Archbishop (A. Clune) 'He is very anxious to have a house and college of the Society in Perth...and he regards it as necessary to have a few men of ours to influence the upper classes.' Refers to a new University building that will soon be built and remarks that the Archbishop has purchased an acre of land for a hostel to be undertaken by the Society of Jesus.
