Sends the latter a cheque for the cows.

Remarks that it cannot be found but that it may be in Gardiner Street. Suggests that the Provincial should make a strong room available so that all of the property deeds can be kept safely.

Letter from Fr William McCartan to Fr Patrick Hughes SJ. States that he is not satisfied with the latter's letter, and claims that he had told Fr Brown that he intended to purchase five heifers. Complains that he was never treated in such a manner before.

Letter from Fr William McCartan, writing from the Parochial House, Dromore, County Down, to Fr Patrick Hughes SJ. Objects to the latter having found fault with his purchase of cattle for Fr Hughes’ community, and claims that he would profit by the purchase.

Letter from Irish Fr Provincial John R MacMahon SJ to the Rector of St Francis Xavier's, Upper Gardiner Street in the appointment of Rev. Alexis Magni to the office of Vicar-General which entitles him to ‘the full powers of a General till such time as a successor to the late Fr Ledochowski has been appointed’ and ‘the powers of Visitor granted Fr Dugre on 9 April 1939 will remain in force till they are revoked’.
