Note from Lady Margaret Domvile to the Irish Fr Provincial Joseph Lentaigne SJ. Informs the latter that her husband is anxious to engage a Jesuit private chaplain who is English by birth. Asks if Fr Lentaigne would consent to recall Fr Costa from Malta. Encloses a letter from Fr Ryan (not included). Includes a note: ‘F. Costa was refused, as can't live out of Community’.

– the creation of a new entrance to Manresa House in Dollymount and the sale of the old gate lodge to the developer of the site (see also ADMN/3/43);
– various Consultors’ opinions with regard to Fr. General’s Letters on The Social Apostolate;
– the Irish Hierarchy’s opinion of the Health Bill of 1952;
– ‘the dangers there is for Catholics to go to Trinity College’ (see also ADMN/3/38);

A word or phrase has been cut out of this letter.

‘Relazione di una guarigione prodigiosa…’ Account by Fr Vincenzo Decorradi SJ, master of novices in a Jesuit novitiate in Malta. Relates the story of a young novice who went blind and was cured after praying to the Blessed Virgin. (In Italian). A handwritten note in English by ‘J.F.M.’ (possible Fr James Murphy SJ, Irish Provincial) states that the novice was later dismissed from the Society after becoming ‘a regular “ecstatic”’. (In Italian).
